What will you do?

A day in the life of a Manager, Product Management, Lifestyle Apparel at Vans looks a little like this.

You will be responsible for managing certain categories of Apparel, targeting a lifestyle commercial consumer from brief stage through design and development to product introduction and sell through. You will be managing product from a global perspective, having awareness of the business needs of the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. You will be at the communication center, managing conversations with other global product managers, regional managers, design, development, merch ops, planning, and marketing. This position will be reporting into the Senior Product Manager of Apparel.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Identify market trends and analyze global business insights to create briefs, seasonal line plan architecture and inform business decisions.

  • Have a deep understanding of the fashion lifestyle and street wear consumer and strategize to build assortments against segmentations.

  • Work closely with design through the design process, partner with development for product creation, monitor progress, ensure meeting milestones and calendar deadlines.

  • In partnership with design and development, attend fittings, review costing, problem solve and ensure meeting margin targets by style as well as at a total category level.

  • Partner closely with regional merchandisers to truly understand business needs and evolving strategies.

  • Work within the product line management system and ensure data is up to date and accurate. Work with coordinator in upkeep of sample management.

  • Strategize category opportunities and initiatives. Build presentations and present at global line reviews.

  • Manage and inspire the team to achieve category, department goals.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5-7+ years of experience, prior people leadership experience and professional achievements.

  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically. Capable of analyzing data, financials and analytics to guide key findings in decision making.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and problem solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Leadership skills with an ability to drive and encourage excellence from team/others.

  • Confident and comfortable in a self starter environment.

  • Consumer oriented with exceptional sense of product trends, fashion and global market competitive set.

  • Possess a point of view balanced with the ability to influence and manage change cross functionally.

Hiring Range :

$90,720.00 USD - $113,400.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
