10742 - Data Engineer I

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines that connects well with new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.

  • Collaborates effectively with business functional and analytic teams to improve data models that support business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the enterprise.

  • Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always validated, accurate, and available for key stakeholders and business orgs that depend on it.

  • Contributes to platform sustainability and quality through written unit/integration tests, engineering store, and documented version control.

  • Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot and debug data related issues and assist in resolving said issues.

  • Defines company data assets (data models), schema, and SQL scripting jobs that populate data models and report visualization entities.

  • Evaluates open source and vendor tools for data lineage and designs data integrations and data quality framework where necessary.

  • Closely aligned with all business units and back-end teams to assist in the sustainability of the required data model and platform architecture.

  • Utilize and analyze company data, industry reports, and public information to support business intelligence and provide recommendations.

  • Use data visualization tools and reporting platforms to create dashboards and reports that help organization understand trends, identify opportunities, and address challenges.

  • Support in creating analytical reports to summarize findings and share with stakeholders.

  • Data Engineer Qualifications / Skills:

  • Knowledge of data technology solution best practices for Enterprise IT operations

  • Ability in designing, constructing, and managing data warehouse storage solutions for the business

  • Experience with or knowledge of designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems

  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies

  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills with a customer-centric approach

    Basic Requirements:

     

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or other related technical field

  • Knowledge of Python, R, or Java development experience

  • Knowledge of SQL experience (No-SQL experience is a plus)

  • Knowledge of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling

  • Good understanding of data IoT and well-known data management applications: Oracle Database, SAP HANA, AWS Solution Stack, RDMS, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.

  • Understanding data visualization development applications such as: Tableau, QlikView, Quicksight, etc

  • Advanced Excel knowledge using features such as pivot tables, v-lookups, and macros

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Advanced skills in Excel formulas and data analysis preferred.

  • A fast learner with the ability to learn new software and technologies quickly with minimal guidance

     

    Salary range: $69,390 to $90,200
