Job Summary

  • Ink Supplies Operations group is looking for a strong skilled packaging engineer who will design, qualify and release complete packaging solutions for various products. The engineer will work closely with various Business Units, R&D, factory, Quality Assurance, MPa's, Marketing, procurement, suppliers and New Product Introduction Program management teams. Additionally, will lead packaging cost savings and efficiency initiatives for Inkjet Supplies Operations with emphasis on Smart Packaging, Security packaging and Sustainability.

Provide complete Ink Supplies packaging solutions for various product lines. Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations.

Responsibilities

  • Designs packaging engineering solutions for products and production tooling based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines, while ensuring cost effectiveness and quality.

  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety and reliability

  • Lead Anti-counterfeit Ink Supplies packaging and Regulatory complied packaging solutions.

  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

  • Leads a project team of internal and outsourced t partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for complex products.

  • Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with all assigned levels across engineering teams and manage information exchange as required.

  • Represents packaging team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.

  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Typically 6 years experience minimally.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong Packaging Engineering knowledge: Design, materials, testing, Qualification, cost analysis, Package specifications.

  • Strong program management and facilitation skills.

  • Using TOPS, CAD or other 3D CAD software as a design tool.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Cross-Org Skills: Effective Communication, Learning Agility, Digital Fluency, Customer Centricity

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.

The base pay range for this role is $79,150 to $121, annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
