NuScale Power Mechanical Drafter 1 in Corvallis, Oregon

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager, NSSS Piping and Integration, the Drafter 1 will work alongside engineers and senior Designer/Drafters to develop 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation of NuScale structures, systems, and components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate 3-dimensional parts and assemblies with guidance from senior personnel.

  • Develop geometry for use in FEA and CFD analysis models.

  • Prepare process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation diagrams for both primary and balance of plant systems.

  • Create 2-dimensional line drawings and figures for reports.

  • Assist engineers and senior designers in the development of design documentation to accompany engineering reports and studies.

  • Maintain CAD part metadata in Product lifecycle management system.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • Education/Certification: An associate’s degree in drafting, engineering graphics technology, or pre-engineering from an accredited college or university is required.

  • Experience: This is an entry-level position with no previous full-time working experience required. However, candidates should be able to demonstrate familiarity (through either on-the-job training, internship, or classroom) with drafting standards and best practices. Familiarity with CAD modeling tools including Siemens NX®, SolidWorks®, and AutoCAD®. Application of Part manufacturing information (PMI) on models is a plus.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, as well as have solid computer, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Must also have good organization and time management skills.

  • Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

The target pay range for this position is $26.45 - $31.93 hourly. The full pay range is $23.72 - $37.10 hourly.
