Willamette Dental Dental Assistant in Corvallis, Oregon

Starting at $20 - $32, depending on experience.

  • Flexibility to travel to other WDG locations within a reasonable range as described in our Travel Policy as needed based on business need.

  • Work under the supervision of a dentist, and perform all aspects of four-handed dentistry and dental assisting duties, within the scope outlined by the state’s dental practice act.

  • Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, materials and treatment rooms for all dental procedures.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Evidence Based Dentistry and how EBD relates to our unique treatment philosophy while exhibiting excellent communication skills to provide clear and effective education and council to patients in regard to:

  • the care and health of the oral environment, and attention to patient comfort

  • therapeutic dental recommendations

  • preoperative and postoperative care

  • Adhere to all state, government and company regulations and guidelines including but not limited to HIPPA, Health & Safety and Risk Management

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Graduation from a recognized dental assisting program or equivalent experience with a minimum of two years working experience and two years of company experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:

  • Qualified and skilled in radiology techniques, including state certification, if required.

  • Ability to perform expanded dental assisting functions. Certifications for sealant application and soft relines, if required by state regulations. (EFDA and/or EFODA certifications are required in Oregon and Idaho.)

  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) preferred.

  • Oral Surgery Assistants will be required to obtain either DAANCE or OMSA certification within their first year of assisting an Oral Surgeon.

  • Ability to perform restorative functions preferred with appropriate credential by state.

Knowledge of:

  • Thorough knowledge and an advocate of the WDG’s treatment philosophy, evidence based dentistry, managed care and capitated business model.

  • Subject matter expert of dental etiology, anatomy and all dental procedures. Skilled within entire scope of practice/credentials.

Skill In:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport, trust and communication diplomatically with both patients and co-workers.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and crucial conversations.

Ability to:

  • Travel to other Willamette Dental office may be required on an ongoing basis

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate dental procedures and concepts effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and effectively provide direction and support in accomplishing tasks and projects. Ability to effectively provide both constructive and positive feedback.

  • Demonstrates eagerness to embrace and promote changes occurring with the company.

  • Desire to stay current and obtain new knowledge and/or skills related to essential job functions.

  • Identify areas of opportunity and initiate solutions. Proactive in developing solutions to increase patient satisfaction and improve work processes and practices.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively with office and dental teams under varying conditions.

  • Lead by example in the practice of evidence based dental assistant treatments.

  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to represent Willamette Dental Group in a professional manner under any and all circumstances.

Physical Requirements:

  • The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies. The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.
