POSITION: Lifeguard

DUTIES: Recognizes and responds quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Enforces all aquatic facility policies, rules and, regulations.

Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor. Assists in cleaning and maintaining restrooms.

Scans aquatic complex and monitors patron actions for safety and appropriate behavior.

Completes records and reports.

Participates in in-service training.

Exercise regularly to maintain fitness level.

Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/First Aid, American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Must pass pre-employment testing for lifeguarding skills and knowledge.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 15 years of age due to child labor laws. Must be able to work under adverse conditions for extended periods of time to include: noise, fumes, and hazardous materials. Indoor and outdoor facility, irregular work hours, water and slippery surfaces. Light lifting, and sitting for longer periods of time.

WAGE: $14.42

SHIFTS: This is a part-time position. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours are flexible and will be discussed at interview.
