Team or Function Overview

We are looking for a Production Manager who will be responsible for supervising the Production department through his/her direct reports to meet quality and productivity objectives in a safe and efficient manner. Duties include development of operating procedures, safe work practices, process problem-solving, operator training, and resolution of day to day production department issues. The Production Manager manages the daily operations, applying continuous improvement principles and methods and promoting participation related management techniques, 5S and Lean Principles.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage daily operations through supervisors and team to maximize efficiency, output, raw material utilization while maintaining a safe working environment and achieving quality standards. Ensure that standards and expectations are in place, routinely communicated, clearly understood and consistently met.

  • Provide formal objectives and measurements for plant personnel

  • Also involved in machine troubleshooting, efficiency studies and capital improvements.

  • Ensure that production crews are well trained, involved and committed to meeting production, quality, and safety requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with all EHS policies and external regulatory requirements and that employees are adequately protected against safety hazards.

  • Meet daily production schedule and requirements. Work jointly with logistics and purchasing to ensure appropriate inventory mix is available, while balancing both production efficiency and raw material demands.

  • Develop, implement and track compliance to production department expense budgets.

  • Control key cost elements to ensure achievement to ensure achievement of budget spending goals. Guide production supervision to achieve a balance between production needs, machine reliability and overall repair cost.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the production department. Responsible for maintaining an environment for good employee relations to prevent any union organizing attempts. Work closely with human resources and supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing is maintained. Participate in the hiring process to ensure we staff motivated team members. Ability to effectively communicate the Bonus Plan to all employees to maximize participation and impact on performance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Under This Roof, We Require

  • A Bachelor's Degree, coupled with 5+ years of manufacturing experience. Ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Demonstrated experience in process and quality improvements, implementing strategy for production operations, hiring/training/coaching employees and performance

Management.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% for the first 6 months

  • Experience in a high volume manufacturing operation

  • Experience with SAP

  • Google Suite platform knowledge is preferred

  • Supervisory experience is preferred

Physical Demands

  • Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading

  • Must be able to climb ladders, platforms, and/or stairs and walk on open grating on elevated surfaces

  • Required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery

  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Must continuously have the ability to differentiate colors precisely.

  • Occasionally operate business machines

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
