Corsicana is a city in Navarro County, Texas, United States. It is located on Interstate 45, some 58 mi south of downtown Dallas. The population was 23,770 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Navarro County.

The Corsicana Manufacturing Plant is the proud recipient of the 2019 Environmental Impact award! The plant was built in 1987 and manufactures cups, lids, to-go containers and breakfast trays used in households and restaurants all over the US. We currently have approximately 500 full time employees and we are growing!

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

  • Troubleshoot difficult maintenance problems that occur throughout the plant with a major emphasis on electrical problems, to include A.C. and D.C. drives, PLC (programmable logic controllers) as well as basic motor control circuits.

  • Complete new project installations by working with engineering and maintenance teams to lay out and execute electrical training programs for maintenance personnel. This is to include preparation of lesson plans technical aspects of all plant equipment (electrical and controls) and the presentation of the material in a classroom and on the job environment.

  • Evaluate and implement preventive/predictive maintenance programs on A.C. and D.C. motors, drives and other electrical equipment. Determine and implement needed changes to procedures. Train affected maintenance personnel in procedural upgrades.

  • Provide working database of backup control logic for all programmable control systems.

  • Develop and revise plant electrical drawings -- 1) safety one-line diagrams, 2) P&ID’s (control loops), 3) drives and controls, 4) ladder logic and design

  • Calibrating various equipment per manufacturer’s instructions

  • Assist with environmental and health/safety compliance

  • Management of contractors including safety elements

  • Assist development, writing, implementing and/or submission of various technical reports or CARs in support of cost reduction, new product, and reliability and safety initiatives.

  • Train and supervise hourly Technicians

  • Manage Plant Capital Projects

  • Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for capital projects

  • Perform all other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Technical school certificate or diploma in a specific work-related area, such as electronics technology, electro- mechanical engineering technology, etc. and a minimum of 3-5 years of work-related experience is preferred.

  • Must be aware of all hazards, must work in safe manner by applying knowledge of safety rule guidelines and follow all precautions including the lock-out/tag-out procedures including arc flash compliance, NFPA 70E.

  • Project management skills to keep projects and processes on track

  • Must be self-starter and must demonstrate the initiative to manage projects and solve problems. Able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Working knowledge of electrical and electronic theory, ability to read schematics (electrical, mechanical/piping), P&ID diagrams, and blue prints.
