Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$72.422 - $93.448 - $114.474

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Primary responsibilities include providing administrative oversight and direction for the OR/SPD Units and is accountable for planning, directing, leading and evaluating nursing care within these departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.

  • 3 years' leadership and management experience.

  • 2 years' operating room experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years leadership and management experience.

  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) - Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) -PREFERRED

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification - Various-No accreditation board -PREFERRED

Essential Functions

  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

  • Oversee the daily workflow, staffing, orientation, training and developing of employees within the department.

  • Organize services and systems necessary for the multidisciplinary approach throughout the continuum of care; assume responsibility for the clinical and financial performance of the department.

  • Responsible for the ongoing quality/performance improvement processes related to patient care.

  • Facilitates department and committee meetings, participates on other committees/task forces as assigned.

  • Promote and support a collaborative team approach in providing care for all patients.

  • Act as a liaison for the unit(s) and provides physicians, families, and ancillary departments with direction and/or assistance as needed.

  • Support and interpret policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of the hospital.

  • Leads initiatives that results in improved teamwork and/or building more effective relationships.

  • Participates in quality assurance programs including LEAN and HRO.

  • Monitors customer satisfaction scores and implements plans to improve them.

  • Monitor patient volumes, quality of care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement.

  • Maintains a departmental dashboard that includes information and progress on each pillar.

  • Responsible for investigating patient, physician and staff complaints and concerns and works to resolve them.

  • Hires, coaches, counsels, trains and conducts timely annual performance evaluations.

  • Develops and implements departmental budget and remains at or below budget criteria. Develops action plans when actual exceeds budgeted cost/UOS.

  • Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.

  • Maintain required competencies for self and all employees within the department.

  • Pursue professional growth and participates in a professional organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of NCQA, JCAHO, and other accreditation agency standards is required.

  • Computer skills must include experience with electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and various customer service database programs.
