The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

HR provides service offerings that align solutions to business challenges by ensuring the programs are Effective, Efficient, Global, Scaleable, and Repeatable. Role Purpose

The Director, Talent Management sits with the Talent Center of Expertise (CoE) in Corning Human Resources. In this role, you will join a highly motivated and integrated team, and focus on reimagining talent practices for the future. With a deep expertise in talent management and experience in a global CoE, you are well versed in designing impactful talent practices that support the business strategy and create a positive employee experience.

You will design and promote talent management practices that focus on roles and teams that create the greatest value for Corning: Identify and prioritize the roles and teams that have disproportionate business impact. Work proactively to match the best talent, avoid vacancies and remove organizational obstacles. You will engage with leaders and HR business partners at all levels of the global organization to align practices and create insights for action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design the global talent management philosophy, strategy, processes, and framework to grow and engage talent with the right skills and capabilities.

  • Identify and develop talent for complexity and higher leadership roles through our assessment strategy, talent reviews, succession plans and pools.

  • Determine roles that create disproportionate value for Corning and manage value realization plans for the organizational and talent side.

  • Support talent management and planning for Corning’s senior leaders.

  • Drive implementation of and provide thought-leadership and expert coaching to HR colleagues on talent solutions that align talent to business value.

  • Measure the return on investment and effectiveness of talent practices and articulate opportunities for continuous improvement and higher levels of business impact.

Education & Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, psychology, business administration, or a related field.

  • Multiple years of proven work experience in a global talent center of expertise regardless of industry and/or demonstrated measurable results in a management consultancy.

  • Proven ability to set direction and conceptualize talent interventions that drive large-scale business performance with impact.

  • Passion for HR and workforce trends, a science and data-based talent approach, and intuitive talent solutions that meet business and employee needs.

  • Proven ability to navigate in a matrix environment and lead others without formal authority, mobilize collaboration and effective teamwork across the organization.

  • Strong senior executive engagement, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with demonstrable ability to simplify solutions and create buy-in and alignment across geographies and units.

  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while continually identifying linkages within the wider HR function.

  • Strong business acumen and enterprise mindset, interpersonal, organizational and project management skills and resilience to meet multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Use of data to analyze business, talent and workforce issues and ability to tell simple, clear compelling stories. Ability to identify the root cause of problems and opportunities.

Location and Travel Requirements

  • This role can work from any of Corning's global locations

  • Up to 25% domestic and international

The range for this position is $146,264.00 - $201,113.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
