Temporary Need: 09/15/24-06/30/25. Five (5) full-time, seasonal, temporary Livestock Workers needed. Requirements: Applicants must have 1 month of experience with livestock care and provide the contact information of at least one reference who can verify experience and performance. Applicants hired must be able to obtain a valid driver's license as driving on public roads may be required. Able to lift 100 lbs. Location: Work will be performed in Corrine, Utah. All places of employment are owned/controlled by the employer . Will work 48 hrs/wk, 8 hours/day Mon-Sat., 7:30am-4:30pm, wage is $16.63/hr. Duties include: Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of cattle. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to livestock production. Duties related to the production of livestock will include the following: check physical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain or to determine offspring delivery time; assist in delivery; apply or administer medications, vaccines and/or insecticides; mix feed/additives and feed/water livestock; place mineral blocks; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water; herd livestock; confine livestock in stalls; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamp livestock; clean/disinfect livestock stalls/corrals/sheds; maintain records on animals; hoist/stack bales of hay onto wagon/truck. Other duties will include the following responsibilities: maintain, drive, attach, and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to haul and spread manure; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on machinery; paint/repair/maintain farm/livestock structures; maintain/repair fencing; perform general cleanup of farm/livestock areas; drive, load/unload farm/Ag exempt, non CDL 10-wheel trucks on, or between, farm worksites; operate vehicle, motor bike, or all-terrain vehicle in the course of performing duties; workers possessing the proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers. Terms and conditions of employment: Will work in extreme temperatures, working in hot, dry, dusty, cold, sometimes wet and snowy conditions according to weather. Details: Tools, room, board, kitchen facilities and transportation provided at no cost to workers. Must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. Applicants that have not worked in crop harvesting during the past twelve (12) months, up to two (2) references will be required. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. Subsistence costs will be paid at the daily rate of $15.488per each 24-hour period of time that the worker is in travel status. A workers entitlement to reimbursement for reasonable subsistence costs in excess of the daily rate per day shall be limited to actual expenses not exceeding $59.00 per day, based on receipts. The worker must produce receipts from commercial food establishments showing the amount spent for any food and non-alcoholic beverages, including tax. When required, transportation between the employer-provided housing and the work site will be provided by the employer at no cost to th worker. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (whichever is the highest rate). This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application.
