The Security Specialist position is part of the Security team located in Coralville, Iowa and work is performed on site. At IDT, we are one global team. We celebrate our differences, engage in healthy debate, and are inclusive. Together, we accomplish great things.

The security specialist is responsible for protecting company assets; assisting in ensuring that all company properties are protected from crime, fire, terrorism, trespassing and natural or manmade disasters.

Shift: Sunday - Thursday 4:00 PM-Midnight

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

.

  • Arrange work schedules for contract security personnel; Assist in the training of security personnel; Assist with distributing employee ID Badges and maintaining the database.

  • Assist with emergency activities for company facilities to include planning, training, and response; Maintain security and emergency response equipment. Assist with follow up investigations into events requiring emergency response or criminal activity, and assists in filing the appropriate reports

  • Assist with project management for the installation of new security technologies; Assist with conducting site surveys and make recommendations for additional security processes as necessary.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Minimum of high school or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years in security, or military/civilian law enforcement, with prior supervisory or leadership experience required.

  • Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers. Ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control or planning of an activity.

Physical/Environment Requirements

  • Exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10-15 lbs. of force frequently

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Associate's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, or business-related preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations integrated networked CCTV & access control systems, and Fire, and burglar alarm systems.

  • Emergency Management training. Incident Command Training. Investigation Training. First Aid, CPR, AED Training.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
