This Manager role is part of the Small Molecule Chemistry department in Coralville, IA and will be onsite. At IDT, we are one global team. We celebrate our differences, engage in healthy debate, and are inclusive. Together, we accomplish great things.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be responsible for the manufacturing of various amidite products for use in downstream oligonucleotide synthesis processes.

  • Oversee the workflow of the Small Molecule Chemistry department and coordinate with the Materials Planning group to develop manufacturing schedules.

  • Ensure safe and effective operating processes in the Small Molecule Chemistry department.

  • Supervise and direct staff which would include shift scheduling, employee hiring, training, performance evaluations, and discipline.

  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and create development plans for direct reports.

  • Ensure that the Small Molecule Chemistry group meets performance metrics and create counter measures when necessary.

  • Provide technical guidance and continual improvement opportunities to direct reports.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years’ work experience in a chemical laboratory setting.

  • Comfortable working around hazardous materials.

  • Knowledge of chemical characteristics and standard methods used in Organic Chemistry.

  • Experience operating and analyzing data from laboratory equipment such as HPLC, NMR, TLC, and UV-Vis.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Experience utilizing Danaher Business System (DBS) tools.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
