PulteGroup Product Owner (PGP Title) in Coppell, Texas

The Product Owner maximizes the business value their products create. They do this by articulating the “what” and “why” of the product, translating user needs into meaningful features and user stories, prioritizing and managing the agile team backlog, and acting as the ultimate decision maker to manage the backlog to best execute the product roadmap. They work closely with business executives, management, end users, agile teams, and functional/technical team members to rapidly deliver quality solutions to Pulte’s customers and employees.

This position is based in Coppell, Texas and will require a hybrid work schedule.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop deep functional technical understanding and become "go to" person for products you own.

  • Develop and prioritize product features based on value by working with business stakeholders and customers to understand their needs.

  • For each feature, research the current state and clarify the problem to be solved.

  • Build, refine, and prioritize product backlog to maximize value delivery.

  • Facilitate and drive delivery of assigned features by collaborating with other product owners, architects, and delivery teams to design the system solution.

  • Resolve feature questions through data analysis and software tools (SQL, XML, etc.).

  • Apply analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.

  • Collaborate with quality assurance (QA) on unique testing strategies for features and/or products.

  • Define acceptance test criteria and accept user stories as "done" only when story meets acceptance test criteria and definition of done.

  • Care for impact to loans in the backlog when implementing system changes by assessing and specifying how the backlog will be handled as part of story creation.

  • Respond to production support issues in accordance with the specified process and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Clearly communicate product goals and priorities during sprint and program increment (PI) planning.

  • Present product features at sprint demonstrations to end users, managers, and executives.

  • Communicate information clearly, effectively, and professionally to stakeholders, managers, and delivery teams.

  • Advance the quality and delivery of your agile team's roadmap. Maximize the effectiveness of your applications in standardizing process, improving quality, maximizing efficiency and reducing learning curve for new employees.

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and growth of our teams and technology. Reflect and adjust as a team/department to identify areas for experimentation, advancement, and improvement. Agile proficiency and innovation progress is defined and measured in visible tools such as Azure DevOps or Path to Agility dashboard.

Required Education/Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) Preferred

  • 5+ years of AGILE software development experience.

  • 3+ years of requirements management experience as Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Product Manager

Required Licensing, Registration and/or Certifications

  • Not applicable

  • PMP Certification Preferred (not mandatory)

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Demonstrating leadership, consensus-building, and problem-solving skills

  • Documenting as-is and to-be process flows (BPMN is a plus)

  • Experience with complex integrated environments, such-as service-oriented architectures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, including Visio

  • Object-oriented analysis and design or UML is a plus

  • Ability to take complex concepts and synthesize to be understood by business users

  • Highly detail oriented and well organized

  • Effective analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and reporting skills

  • Project Management experience is a plus

  • Title and Escrow industry experience preferred

  • This is a hybrid position, combining both in-office and remote work, allowing for flexibility while maintaining collaboration and productivity
