MMC Corp Senior Benefit Specialist in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania

The primary role of the Senior Benefit Specialist is to evaluate client health and welfare benefit plans and design changes, develop and implement solutions to client issues, support the delivery of contracted client service, and participate in a cross functional team to support Producers, Account Managers, and Underwriters in servicing clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Conduct plan audits, including review of insurance contracts, amendments and other documents, to ensure compliance and appropriate documentation;
  • Collect data and documents for compliance reviews;
  • Interpret plan documents to answer client questions;
  • Work directly with Communications Specialist to develop newsletters, benefit summaries and highlight brochures;
  • Manage the enrollment portal process, meet quality and timing objectives, and effectively communicate resolution of issues;
  • Review and revise benefit materials, communicating benefit updates and changes to clients and their employees;
  • Working directly with carriers, resolve disputed claim and eligibility issues for clients and participants;
  • Resolve other participant-level issues;
  • Answer and respond to in-bound phone calls from participants; make return calls resulting from voice-mail; and respond in writing to participant e-mail requests;
  • Assist Account Manager in keeping all aspects of CRM up-to-date;
  • Manage the issue resolution process, meet quality and timing objectives, and effectively communicate resolution of issues;
  • File stop loss claims;
  • Identify and analyze trends and work with carriers and clients to improve claim payment accuracy;
  • Generate and distribute Medicare Part D participant notices to clients;
  • Conduct benchmarking analysis for assigned clients;
  • Manage and prioritize work requests.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience preferred;
  • Minimum of 2 years client facing and benefits/insurance related experience;
  • Experience within a health care, insurance, health and welfare consulting, benefits brokerage, human resources consulting, and employee benefits industry is preferred;
  • Active Life and Health License preferred, if not licensed must obtain license within first 90 days of employment.

  • Strong organizational, analytical skills and strong attention to detail;

  • Proven presentation skills;
  • Proven ability to provide superior customer service and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and client contacts;
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Intermediate experience in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Project, and Outlook.
