Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 3 for Texas A&M Commerce , located in Commerce, TX. This manager will supervise 60+ employees in the Resident Dining Hall with additional oversight into Retail, Catering, Camps, Conferences, and Concessions by working through the managers and supervisors of those areas.
Texas A&M Commerce is a public research university in Commerce, Texas. With an average enrollment of over 12,000 students, the university is the third-largest institution in the Texas A&M University System. Founded in 1889, the institution is also the fourth-oldest state university or college in the State of Texas. Located on the northeastern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, approximately 65 miles from downtown Dallas, the university attracts traditional resident students from the Metroplex and also from the smaller communities of Northeast Texas.
The successful candidate will:
Have oversight of day-to-day operations by making sure menu planning, meal pattern compliance, recipes, and HACCP standards are being followed.
Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards
Deliver high-quality food and customer service
Achieve company and client financial targets and goals
Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations
Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement Develop strategic plans
Support in large campus dining events in catering and concessions as needed
Create a positive environment

Have culinary production and management experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
Can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service and serving great food
Well organized, critical thinker, resourceful, and self-motivated
Have experience with scheduling to meet business demands and labor targets
Are SERVSafe Certified
Have prior Assistant GM / Director-level or higher experience in Campus Dining
Have professional cooking and production knowledge
Have the ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs
Prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
Has proficient computer skills

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
