Description:

Trauma Registrar

Position Purpose:

The Trauma Registrar is a member of the Trauma Services department of an American College of Surgeons verified Trauma Center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data abstraction, data entry, injury identification, ICD-10 and AIS coding and scoring, and validation for accuracy of trauma patients from Mount Carmel Health System facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Education: Graduate of a minimum of a two-year college program preferred.

Related program certificate courses or applicable experience accepted.

· Licensure / Certification: Obtain and maintain a trauma specific or HIM certification within three (3) years of hire

Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialists (CAISS)

Certified Specialists in Trauma Registry (CSTR)

Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)

Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

Or related Health Information Management certificate

  • Experience: Previous trauma registry experience preferred

  • ICD 10 CM/ PCS coding experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 software required.

  • Computer data entry experience required.

  • Knowledge of medical record procedures, medical terminology, basic anatomy required.

**This is a remote opportunity but candidates must have experience in trauma registry or related position or internship.
