JPMorgan Chase Tech Risk and Controls Lead - Assessments and Testing in Columbus, Ohio

Join our team to play a pivotal role in mitigating tech risks and upholding operational excellence, driving innovation in risk management.

As a Tech Risk & Controls Manager in Corporate Sector's platform , the ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, and mitigating compliance and operational risks in line with the firm's standards. This role is a high impacting role providing standardized technology controls assessments and testing in relation to the validation of controls and completeness of Issue validations. The ideal candidate for this role will have the ability to develop, document, and perform testing methodology and assessments using technology controls measurement and implementation steps to gauge control performance and evaluate design effectiveness. The candidate will be the subject matter expert for the Issue Management Program.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform and adhere to all pre and post completion Issue Validation requirements in accordance with JPMChase Firmwide Compliance and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) Issue Management Standard

  • Ensure that for all Issues associated to a control, the control's design, and the sustainability of the control's performance must be assessed, completed, and documented prior to completion in the CORE system

  • Update Control Evaluation Record CER as needed for both Control Design Evaluation (DE) and Control Performance Evaluation (PE)

  • Monitor all Issue dependencies - linkages, cross-impacted risks, etc. are appropriately addressed towards pre and post completion Issue Validation

  • Collaborate with product and services teams, portfolio governance, audit, and resiliency teams to produce and enhance testing and assessments methodology and perform testing

  • Create and maintain documentation to support the testing program

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technology risk management, information security, or related field, emphasizing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the client's organization.

  • Strong data aptitude and experience developing repeatable testing methods using Alteryx, or other advanced analytics automation methods or tools.

  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks, industry standards, and financial industry regulatory requirements

  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in data security, risk assessment & reporting, control evaluation, design, and governance, with a proven record of implementing effective risk mitigation strategies

  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level strategic decision-making and translating technology insights into business strategies for senior executives

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in banking and financial services

  • Experience with project management fundamentals and managing JIRA backlog

  • Experience working in regulated industries, in particular leveraging technology standards, frameworks, compliance, and industry recognized best practice/standards (e.g., ITIL, NIST, ISO, PCI, SOC)

  • Experience using a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and controls
