JPMorgan Chase Tech Risk and Controls Associate - Global Tech Chief Data Office Data Use Risk in Columbus, Ohio

Job Description

The Global Data Management team has an exciting opportunity for the position of Associate focusing on data risk management within the firm's Global Technology organization. Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to enable business requirements while balancing the intersection of technology, privacy, and data management risks in to solve complex problems.

The Global Technology Data Use Team plays a key role in helping data users (for example, AI/ML data science teams) leverage data to develop state-of-the-art technology and deliver customer-centric products and services. As a Data Use Case Associate you will coordinate with requesters and partners from Controls, Legal, Compliance and Risk to evaluate data use requests and document legal, contractual, operational, and reputational risks.

Job Responsibilities:

Work with internal stakeholders to evaluate data use requests and identify any necessary business requirements, guardrails, conditions or controls:

  • Assist to implement projects and viable solutions that align with firm wide data use best practices

  • Prioritize data use requests against product roadmaps and key deadlines, project go-live dates and risk assessments

  • Coordinate review with key stakeholders and senior management and present data request overviews and risks

  • Update the system of record for data use requests, maintaining workflow status for requestors

  • Update status reporting on a weekly basis

  • Draft and update process documents related to the Data Use Council review process.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Must possess analytical and project management skills

  • Must be able to quickly and effectively respond to rapidly changing business needs

  • Must be a proactive self-starter.

  • Must possess leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Prior experience with Data Governance, Privacy, Risk, Audit or Compliance is a plus.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, legal, privacy, data management or related field with 3-5 years' experience in those fields

  • Experience with technical concepts and working with technical staff as needed

  • Knowledge of PI, metadata and other data management concepts

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint
