CAS is currently seeking a Software Engineer- Operations Lead for our Technology Team. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Job Accountabilities: Software Engineer is responsible for leading the operational activities of our Life Sciences content curation and delivery system. This role encompasses owning operational responsibility for delivering this critical content along with leading continuous improvement efforts for developing and deploying scientific software solutions in the life sciences information space to support transformational initiatives, delivering both short and long-term results to the business. Support internal customers including both Content Operations Scientists and Product Technology data consumers. Combines strong technical leadership skills with software development skills to drive efficiencies in content curation and workflow process. Applies DevSecOps to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective management and delivery of critical life sciences content. Triage production system and data issues and coordinate resolution of same. Qualifications: 4-year degree in computer science, engineering, informatics, or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of software development experience Experience working with production software system Proficiency in programming languages such as Java/JavaScript/TypeScript/Python/Scala Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments Experience with databases technologies (MarkLogic, RDF/triple store) Experience working in AWS environment Experience building containerized applications (Docker) Experience creating CI/CD pipelines in AWS (CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, CloudFormation) Experience with MarkLogic and XQuery is highly desirable Experience with Node.js, ECS/Fargate is a plus Experience with XML and related technologies is a plus Strong communication, organizational savvy, interpersonal skills Innovates and continuously improves; focuses on areas of highest potential CAS offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including a generous vacation plan, medical, dental, vision insurance plans, and employee savings and retirement plans.
