Description This position will be a Senior Software Engineer - Analytics within the Publications Technology - Data Engineering & Analytics Team with a range of technical and leadership skills. The candidate should be proficient in Data Visualization, Analytics and Architecture. The candidate should have experience and be capable of technical project team leadership, design, and hands-on development. Job Description Create high-level plans, designs and execute to deliver solutions working with business and IT staff Lead the design and development of business intelligence and analytical solutions for the Publications Division Design and build data models and table structures to support BI solutions Gather, document and design key business definitions, measures, and standards Manage data analysis and data integration of content from disparate systems Provide recommendations on best practices and implement to improve existing BI systems Develop and execute test plans Develop and update technical documentation Coordinate the design and building of unified reports, dashboards and data extractions across multiple business units and databases Design, develop, test, implement and manage complex ETL processes from multiple sources Job Skills: Expert knowledge of data warehousing concepts and design principles in a cloud environment Comfortable working with business analysts and management Ability to plan work and deliver accurate estimates Excellent communication skills, to work well in a medium sized development team with business partners and technical staff to implement data solutions Ability to effectively lead and guide others to achieve project objectives Ability to quickly adapt and respond to new project requirements Ability to research and evaluate technical solutions and recommend the best course for given requirements Technical Skills: Experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Looker and Tableau Strong, demonstrable knowledge of BI industry standards and best practices Experience with predictive analytics and machine learning is preferred Experience with rest APIs and scripting Strong experience with Snowflake, SQL Server and GBQ Experience in Python or R,SAS is a plus Experience with BI reporting tools such as Business Objects Experience with ETL tools such as Talend and Pentaho Data Integration Experience with Agile and other software development methodologies JIRA, Confluence Experience with AWS is preferred Qualifications Education Bachelor of Science of Computer Information Science (preferred) Experience 7 years in Data Analytics or Engineering (preferred) Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
