Columbus Regional Airport Authority Staff Accountant in Columbus, Ohio

The Columbus Regional Airport Authority manages and operates passenger-focused John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), cargo-focused Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK), and general aviation airport Bolton Field (TZR).

Your "Take Off" will be successful by doing the following with excellence:

  • Prepares and performs intermediate to advanced level account analysis, reconciliations, budget analysis, and journal entries and assists in month-end and year-end close.
  • Performs and reviews basic level accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and provides training to the Accounting Specialist and Accounting Technician. 
  • Reviews operating and capital purchase orders and invoices to ensure accurate general ledger coding.
  • Maintains accurate customer and vendor records in the financial system, including new customer and vendor setup and changes to existing vendors.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements and statistics to be presented to the Board of Directors, analyzes account information, and compiles variance explanations. 
  • Assists in the preparation of year-end financial reporting for the external Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and IRS 1099/1042 reporting.
  • Participates in organizational and departmental projects and identifies and implements solutions that will support business planning and operational process improvement initiatives.
  • Performs related work as required.

     

Your "Landing" will be smooth if you meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of General Ledger, Journal Entries and Bank Reconciliation experience; Or equivalent education and years of experience.
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including general ledger and journal entries.
  • Experience with Workday ERP systems, preferred
