Summary:

The Sr. Managing Director, Property & Casualty Commercial Insurance is the single accountable leader for driving strategic results for commercial insurance in the agency. As a member of the HII executive team, the role participates in the decision-making process necessary for the successful attainment of agency goals in addition to having overall accountability for the performance of the Property & Casualty Commercial Lines segment. This individual will be responsible for strategic growth, book retention, expenses and overall profit for the segment. The segment includes: Commercial Lines Sales (30 producers), Commercial Lines Account Management, Commercial Lines Product, Commercial Lines Carrier Management, Commercial Lines Subject Matter Expertise (e.g. Cyber, Executive Lines, or verticals such as healthcare, etc) and Commercial Lines Claims/Loss Control Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute commercial lines strategy for profitable growth within the agency across all account sizes.

  • Accountable to build and deliver the financial plan for the commercial line segment within the agency.

  • Build a sales culture by designing selling approaches in partnership with the sales enablement leader in the agency, setting sales goals and matching incentives to drive outcomes.

  • Ensures excellent client experience delivered through the account management team to drive retention and to live into the HII vision of putting the customer at the center of everything done within the agency.

  • Leads carrier management to ensure capacity is available across markets and optimization of tools/training in the space.

  • Build out industry vertical expertise and specialized product expertise within the segment to drive growth with a focus on moving up market.

  • Ensures clients are mitigating risk and aid clients in navigating the claims process through the claims and loss control teams

  • Strong leadership with a focus on talent recruitment, development and retention

  • Serve as a key member for integration/acquisition/mergers, as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years of related experience in P&C Commercial Lines brokerage experience.

  • 10+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record of success developing leaders, growing revenue and improving profitability.

  • P&C Insurance license.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable insurance licenses as needed.

  • Strong presence and C-level experience with a bias toward negotiation and consultative sales.

  • Ability to effectively navigate conflict with customers and partners.
