The Sr. Manager of DE&I will leverage strategy, communication, project management and collaboration skills along with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) expertise to support internal and external DEI initiatives and storytelling that will drive progress, strengthen culture and embed inclusion into business processes across the organization.

Responsibilities

Strategy (30%)

  • Provide strategic leadership in the creation and implementation of the company’s DEI goals and outcomes

  • Attend cross-functional business partner meetings to ensure awareness and strategy alignment to DEI programs and initiatives

  • Support in development of project briefs for cross-functional business partners Provide strategic input on evolving DEI narrative and program calendar

  • Monitor DEI storytelling best practices and conduct DEI program patterning to share with key partners

  • Partner with DEI team members to strategically embed DEI into talent management, learning and development, HR, marketing, communications, community/philanthropy, stores, distribution centers and home office associate support

  • Assist Chief Diversity Officer in developing strategic approach to identifying new external awards and recognitions and continuing existing ones that support the company’s DEI values and culture of inclusion

  • Ensure ongoing DEI leadership development programs are available to all associates including creating program strategy, identifying partner organizations, managing relationships internally and externally, and driving awareness and participation

Content (30%)

  • Support Chief Diversity Officer in drafting content on DEI initiatives and programming and cultural community moments to be leveraged by cross-functional business partners

  • Assist in the development and distribution of DEI newsletter, heritage month communications including posters, event dates and registration links

  • Assist in the review of content from IRG communication leads, as needed

  • Assist Chief Diversity Officer in the development and crafting of DEI reporting content (i.e. ESG report, DEI report); partner cross-functionally with Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) team

  • Lead the content development and consolidation of information across the enterprise as needed to complete annual business awards and recognition (i.e. Corporate Equality Index, Human Rights Campaign (HRC).

Project Management (30%)

  • Provide ongoing project management guidance and support in the creation and implementation of company DEI programs and initiatives

  • Assist in marketing and communications process development and evolution

  • relationships and foster cross-functional collaboration

  • Manage partnership with Learning and Development team to drive DEI learning and training content and create ongoing IRG leader training.

  • Manage integration of DEI into AOS and pulse surveys

Misc. (10%)

  • Support event planning and execution, as needed

  • Provide tactical project support to the DEI team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience with preferred expertise in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including experience writing, proofreading, and editing communications focused on AP style

  • Proven project management skills

  • Cross-functional collaborator and facilitator

  • Proven strategy and analytics skills

  • Ability to communicate at all levels

  • Self-starter; motivated to take action and independently identify solutions

  • Preferred

  • Employee Resource Group and Employee Branding experience

  • Event planning

  • Team or cross-functional team leadership

  • Experience in a retail environment

  • Special Requirements

  • Occasional travel

  • Experience in Journalism, Marketing or Human Resources

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Communication, Journalism, Marketing
