This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Position Summary: Provides general clerical and technical support to biosequence (proteins and nucleic acids) curation and processing for addition to CAS content databases, including but not limited to electronic input, editing, formatting, tracking, auditing, etc. Researches, analyzes, and determines appropriate information for all CAS-curated document types. Ensures all data and information output is in computer-readable form, consistent, accurate, and published within quality standards. Ensures all data and information output is in computer-readable form, consistent, accurate, and published within quality standards. Qualifications: High school graduate. College coursework in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field is preferred. 1-2 years of data entry with some sequence data input experience is preferred. Excellent computer skills. Basic UNIX knowledge is a plus. Ability to complete required tasks by a specific deadline. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team to meet goals. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent attention to detail. Highly motivated, self-starter, and quick learner. Strong work ethic. Ability to be flexible.
