Lima Refining Company Refined Products Rail Logistics Analyst in Columbus, Ohio

Worker Type: Employee Group: Commercial Logistics Department Job Post End Date: 10/11/2024 The Refined Products Rail Logistics Analyst is an exciting operational role on the U.S. Refined Products Logistics team with a significant opportunity to impact the profitability of the commercial organization. The position will support schedulers by creating and maintaining specific reports and conducting in-depth analysis that will lead to better overall optimization and operations of the rail fleets that serve Cenovus' refinery assets in the U.S. The Scheduling team within the Commercial group is an integral part of Cenovus' broader Upstream, Downstream & Corporate Strategy organization. What you'll do: * Create, automate and maintain tools and dashboards to accurately capture, track and report on Cenovus' rail operations, including fleet size requirements, volumes, utilization and transit times, working closely with rail logistics schedulers and other functional groups * Track and report cost and efficiency metrics in regards to car leases, storage and other associated costs * Responsible for tracking rail car dwell times at customer destinations and calculating associated demurrage charges * Gather, analyze, and assist with preparation of monthly activity reporting associated with rail movements as assigned * Assist the team in identifying opportunities to optimize Cenovus rail transportation costs and drive financial results * Develop strategies and contingency plans, and participate in resolution and problem solving * Demonstrate commercial knowledge and ability to effectively influence others, making critical and timely decisions that optimize supply to market * Assist with reconciliation of inventory volumes with mid and back-office functions Who you are: * University Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Statistics, or Engineering Preferred: * Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills and adapts easily to other related platforms. Power BI or other data visualization experience preferred * Ideally 1+ years of experience in analytics or logistics. New graduates will also be considered * Strong ability to analyze complex information & details, and present findings in a clear concise format * Ability to respond effectively/efficiently to the needs of diverse clients with a focus on customer service * Independent decision-making with an ability to influence/direct decisions related to commercial operations and value-drivers aligned with Cenovus's overall marketing and trading strategy * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an inclusive environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders * Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills What we offer: * Company-provided medical and dental benefits * Time-off * Retirement Savings Plan * Tuition & Professional Development Assistance We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
