CAS is currently seeking a Materials Science Product Manager for our Product Management Team. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Position Summary: CAS is seeking an entrepreneurial, scientifically minded individual to help further our information product innovation in the materials sciences. This role requires a unique blend of business and scientific savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to realize that vision. As Product Manager for Materials Sciences, this individual will leverage deep understanding of material research and engineering workflows to solve meaningful problems through information-driven solutions. This person must be able to effectively understand the data environment and drivers of activity within Materials R&D workflows, and steer CAS's strategy based on customer needs. This role will provide leadership through all stages of the product lifecycle and will be responsible for driving alignment across the organization on roadmap development, prioritization, and investment decisions. Job Accountabilities: Be responsible for defining product requirements, constructing strategic and product roadmaps and developing a vision for materials science at CAS in collaboration with leadership. Remain knowledgeable of new trends and needs in the market and integrate the ever-changing business environment into the tactical and strategic plans. Serve as the internal and external subject matter expert for materials sciences product offerings, working with the sales channel and key clients. Work with Sales and Marketing Support to assist with the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. Strategic Roadmap - Develops strategy to drive growth programmatically in opportune or needed areas in Material Sciences. Internalizes overall company strategy such that it informs market requirements and feature prioritization. Creates and justifies product strategy, conceives new opportunities for major feature/function enhancements. Market Understanding - Drives customer surveys, and user testing to inform product priorities. Monitors key product analytics to inform development priorities. Establishes and leverages effective relationships with customers, thought leaders, and sales. Understands competitive context. Provides direction as to relevant customer segments to target for research. Product Roadmap - Understands market priorities and works with other product managers and technology partners to identify solutions. Develops compelling and actionable product roadmap. Prioritizes and sequences product features and stories to meet market demands. Leads feature and roadmap definition for a specific product area. Delivers prioritized recommendations and business cases. Product Requirements - Documents clear and measurable product requirements, makes data-driven prioritization recommendations, and understands practical trade-offs between implementation and functionality. Can define key product specifications using written requirements, business rules, process flows and use cases; incorporates user experience generated deliverables such as prototypes, wireframes and design and copy documents.
