This position is accountable for the assembly of raw materials per the batch ticket to ensure that specified and approved materials are provided and delivered to the manufacturing floor when needed. The Prebatch Operator is responsible for weighing out the raw materials, labeling them and accurately moving them in the inventory system. Additional Information: A Shift, 6:00pm - 6:00am - On rotating continuous operation schedule (36/48 hours weekly) Responsible for measuring and/or checking pre-weighted pigments and vehicles required by batch card, including operation of computer system. Execute accuracy in picking raw materials by proper item, weight and lot number. Maintain the organization and cleanliness of shading base crib area. Follow directions on batch slips to compound properly and maintain approved order-of-addition. Capable of handling and moving heavy raw materials e.g. 500-pound drums and 50-pound bags of pigment. Accurately complete a minimum of averaging 3 raw material picks per hour in a 12-hour shift Knows procedure for placing hazardous wastes/adding hazardous wastes into satellite accumulation drums and hazardous waste tanks with the proper markings and labels and placing lids on containers. Ensures lids are properly sealed/fitted on drums, tanks and containers. Moves waste drums to the waste accumulation area for storage. Perform inventories of raw materials using RF Scanners Understanding the difference between the various site waste streams. Understanding the requirements for satellite accumulation and maintaining any accumulation. Ensuring that full drums are sealed, the date is applied to the label, notifying the proper personnel that the drum is ready to be moved to the drum accumulation area. Must be able to work a 12-hours a day schedule. Knows and willingly practices all safety rules and procedures and participates in the plant safety program including the wearing of appropriate safety apparel. Must be certified by the Company to operate forklift and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Perform all job duties as assigned and directed by supervision or management that may not be listed on this job description. Perform housekeeping duties as assigned and keeps area and equipment clean. Properly handle hazardous waste as part of manufacturing operations, maintenance, raw material handling, and clean-up activities, in order to protect personnel, property and the environment. Follow all EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) regulations and guidelines, including RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act). Maintain ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 certifications. This position will also be classified as a "Hazardous Waste Handler". Responsible for the direct handling of hazardous waste generated in their area. This includes assuring that wastes are placed into the proper containers, waste containers are properly labeled, waste containers are kept closed except when adding or removing waste and wastes are stored with labels visible and with adequate space. Responsibilities also include performing emergency response procedures in the event of a hazardous material emergency. Both initial training for new employees and annual refresher training will consist of the same instruction. Facility personnel will be trained by corporate instructors (or other representatives trained by corporate instructors to conduct training) via lectures, slides and videotapes in the proper procedures in each of the following hazardous waste areas: hazardous waste identification, use and management of containers, labeling/marking, accumulation area requirements, emergency procedures/ contingency plan, spill response and cleanup If designated to handle Hazardous Waste 90-day accumulation area, then additional training will be required: DOT HazMat 126F Minimum Requirements: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of ag
