Patient Care Assistant- Cardiac Step-down (Nights) Requisition ID 2024-52363 Category Nursing Support Overview 24 hours per week Night shift 7p-7a, every third weekend, holiday rotation Minimum pay is $19.00 per hour | Benefits Eligible The Heart Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital is a complete solution for our patients with Congenital Heart Disease. In the Cardiac Step-down Unit (H4A), we treat patients of all ages. We specialize in treating both surgically and medically, those patients with congenital heart defects. We also provide medical cardiac management for children and adolescents with heart and vasculature related disease, as well as perform heart, lung, and heart/lung transplants. More about Cardiac Step-down 24 bed unit We take care of all ages, however, on most days, approximately 75% of our population is under the age of six months. Responsibilities Performs clerical office coordination and administrative tasks as necessary. Collects, documents, and reports vital signs such as: blood pressure or mean arterial pressure, heights, and weights. Completes screening questions and documents all items into medical record. Promotes general patient safety and performs minor specimen testing. Holds and positions patients and assists with procedures. Prepares all materials and supplies as needed. Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism and ensures confidentiality of patient information. Ensures environmental standards are met and all clinic and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained. Identifies learning needs and attends continuing education as appropriate. Participates in educational activities. Acts as a preceptor of orientation and training of other PCA staff. Responsible for the transport of non-controlled medications from Pharmacy to designated licensed healthcare practitioners. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent Candidates can qualify in one of the following ways: - Current, Ohio STNA license - Nursing student who has succesfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing (or equivalent) from accredited program - At least one year of patient care experience in a hospital within the last three years Certifications:<
