Responsibilities * Prepares and scans all paper-based medical records using imaging software, ensuring accuracy and quality according to departmental procedures. * Indexes documents under correct type and level within the electronic database. * Reviews scanned and indexed documents to verify accuracy, completeness, and legibility. * Unpacks and sorts incoming mail delivered to the Health Information Management department. Answers incoming calls and assists with providing customer service. * Assists with workflow and process improvement, participating in relevant activities and reporting issues as needed. * Maintains confidentiality of all medical records and patient information. Qualifications Education Requirement: * High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Certifications: * RHIT/RHIA certification, preferred. Skills: * Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software programs. * Analytical and organizational skills. * Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. * Optimal/sustained attention to detail. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Experience: * One year of experience in hospital setting or medical record department, required.
