As a Vice President Supervision Program / Project Manager in J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, you will have the ability to drive and advise on large scale, complex projects with longer term life cycles through a strong understanding of the Wealth Management business. You will work with product owners responsible for the technology development lifecycle as you will have the ability to make decisions / recommendations based on data analysis. You will support and lead project work as well as influence cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to Compliance, Risk, Controls, Operations, and Technology.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform Wealth Management Supervision's Annual Threshold Review, which includes analyzing existing system logic thresholds used to generate alerts across all Lines of Business

  • Create more meaningful reviews performed by Supervision team members by identifying and prioritizing the decommission of unnecessary system logic no longer adding value and by implementing logic enhancements to increase alert effectiveness and reduce system false positives

  • Work collaboratively with various wealth management teams including Field, Product, Risk, Control, Compliance, and Legal in defining, prioritizing, achieving strategic objectives, and ensuring projects meet the approved business requirements

  • Establish strong working relationships with project sponsors, business stakeholders, Technology, Operations, peers, subject matter experts, and others

  • Partner closely with Technology (and other dependent resources) in communicating the business needs, system release prioritization, and tracking/monitoring progress throughout the project life cycle

  • Operate as the voice of the project, producing or contributing to various reporting needs, and facilitating meetings at the business, operational, and project levels

  • Develop and contribute concise communication materials for senior management

  • Influence, clearly articulate, and align stakeholders to final resolutions

  • Create and maintain audit and decision logs

  • Identify potential issues related to the supervisory framework by reviewing increases/decreases in alert volume captured in the Supervision Dashboard

  • Escalate issues timely

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 7+ years of experience in the securities / investment industry

  • Project management experience is required

  • Strong knowledge of retail investment products including advisory accounts, mutual funds, annuities, equities and fixed income

  • Working knowledge of investment industry regulations and regulatory bodies (FINRA, SEC, OCC)

  • Strong understanding of collecting business requirements and moving projects forward

  • Experience managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity

  • Strong ability to synthesize insights and communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), and work well in cross-functional teams

  • A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership

  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers

  • Strong and efficient skills using MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint

  • In-depth analytical skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of securities industry rules, regulations and guidelines and significant and equivalent experience in a directly related securities industry position may substitute for a bachelor's degree

  • Industry licensing preferred but is not required for the role (e.g., FINRA Series 7, 66 (63/65), 9/10 (or 4, 24, 53), appropriate State Life & Health Insurance license, etc.)

  • Should have experience leading project teams through full project lifecycle from ideation to project implementation including process design, technology development, testing and business readiness.

  • Agile and/or Jira experience is a plus

  • Experience using MIS reporting tools and creating end-user reports is a plus (QlikView, QlikSense, SSRS, Tableau)
