Confidential Industrial Electrician in Columbus, Ohio
JOB TITLE: Industrial Electrician
STARTING PAY: $36 - $38 per hour (Dependent on experience)
HOURS: 5 AM-3:30 PM Mon-Thurs
SUMMARY:
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for conducting test and data collection activities throughout the plant on various equipment and component parts, including control panels. This role involves installing components as needed, testing, and repairing equipment, with a focus on PLC troubleshooting. Experience with 220/440/480 volts is required, along with the ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keep the immediate supervisor informed about ongoing projects, including status updates, completion timelines, and any issues that may arise.
Conduct tests on machines and components in accordance with established policies, procedures, and written test plans.
Maintain accurate records of test results and reporting.
Operate machinery and equipment safely, adhering to established safety rules; maintain a neat and clean work area; follow tool and instrument control procedures; and report any unsafe acts or conditions to the Team Leader.
Work on 3-phase motors, transformers, conveyor lines, PITs, lights, overhead cranes, hoists, lift tables, limit and proximity sensors, and other equipment as required by the manager.
Perform inspections and installations of parts and components on equipment, maintaining accurate records of installations and test data collection.
Build fixtures to support various machine or component needs.
Observe machine operations to identify workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.
Perform related duties as assigned by the team leader or supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and equipment.
Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
*EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: *
High School Education or GED with three to six years of related experience.

*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: *
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to read and interpret a metal ruler.
