Mettler Toledo LLC Field Service Engineer in Columbus, Ohio

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities Working throughout the Great Lakes Region of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan, our Field Service Engineer is a highly visible and critical component of our business. You will be the customer's Trusted Advisor, providing technical recommendations to optimize our solutions for their requirements and following up with the customer to ensure satisfaction with the service. This requires outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively. The role performs calibration and preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs on Process Analytics Sensors, Transmitters, Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyzers and the more complex analyzers (Sodium, Silica, 7000RMS, 3000CS, etc). You will be skilled to complete setup, configuration and qualification of the products listed above, as well as develop to perform calibration and preventative maintenance, startup commissioning and repairs of our advance analyzers (Gpro500, Easyclean 400, etc). You may also be required to assist on installations, projects and/or repairs outside of this territory as necessary. This is a high travel position both by car and air, with up to 80% of travel, and could be as much as 100% depending on business need. We strive for balance and our travel days are weekdays, with weekend travel being rare. A fleet vehicle is included with this role. Other Duties Include: Resolving first-line customer concerns and helps resolve invoicing issues when applicable. Performing end user training. Working to ensure an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork with field and service support colleagues. Ensuring company vehicle is serviced and maintained according to fleet requirements and policies. Maintaining inventory levels as assigned by SBU and maintains appropriate accuracy and control over stocked items. Ensuring compliance with all company and customer safety and quality policies and procedures. Using Device Service Management (DSM), order all assignment request materials and record all related activities in a timely manner. What You Need to Succeed A valid driver's license is required. Education & Experience Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED with an aptitude in the areas of Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Technology or Computer Science or equivalent education and experience in a technical support role, technical troubleshooting or technical installation of electronics or electromechanical technology. Associate degree (AA) with a technical major or equivalent from a two-year College preferred, or related job experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to speak and present ideas to a large group. 2-4 years' experience in METTLER TOLEDO Process analytics field service technician role or 2-3 years hands on mechanical experience in relevant field including electromechanical and/or pneumatic systems. Customer facing or field service experience desired. Working Conditions Temperatures during working conditions are typically atmospheric and can range from -10F to 120F with humidity as high as 100%.
