Electrophysiology Clinician RN- Cath Lab Requisition ID 2024-52189 Category Nursing Overview Shift: (4) 10-hour shifts per week, Monday-Friday The EP Lab Clinician RN is an integral member of the catheterization lab team and demonstrates clinical expertise and advanced decision making skills, serves as a resource for peers, co-workers, and patients/families and assumes leadership responsibilities assigned by the cath lab manager. The EP Lab Clinician RN is responsible for the operation, maintenance and application of EP procedures including but not limited to: scrub device related procedure ; Hemodynamic monitoring/analysis; perform pacing protocols ; measuring and document arrhythmias; perform 3D mapping; imaging; physiologic monitoring, analysis, and documentation; circulating; anticoagulation and hematologic monitoring/analysis; blood gas and chemistry monitoring/analysis; administration of medications, administration of blood components; procedure assisting; inventory management and control; database entry; and any other duties as assigned. The EP Lab Clinician RN shall provide age-appropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years, and select adult patients. Individuals must understand and follow physician, departmental, and Nationwide Children's Hospital policies and procedures, documentation required by ODH, Radiation Safety Officer, CLIA, CAP, and JCAHO. Responsibilities Operates cardiac catheterization, EP, and intervention equipment as ordered by the physicians. Administration of drugs, and blood products under the orders and supervision of a physician. Set-up, calibrate and frequently checks the audio, video, physiologic, electrophysiologic, imaging, and electronic monitoring apparatus and draws blood samples for laboratory tests from the indwelling arterial catheter as appropriate. Identifies and has knowledge of the application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all EP procedures. (or the ability to learn and gain this knowledge) Operates, maintains, calibrates and documents all of the necessary laboratory equipment as specified by Point of Care Testing. Performs chemistry, blood gas, co-oximetry, and activated clotting time in the Catheterization and EP Suites for patients undergoing related procedures.
