1 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Controls Technician (Electrical) Last Date Revised: 8/16/24 Department: Technical Job Summary: The technician's role is to provide technical support in the building, installation, and maintenance of the customer equipment. The technician will also be responsible for the layout, machining, and wiring of electric control equipment enclosures, as well as the assembly or fabrication of any associated components such as cables, brackets, junction boxes, etc. They will be able to do field wiring, modify prints, and wire most field equipment. Reports To: Administratively reports to the Production Coordinator, with technical support being provided by the PM Lead Technicians. Principal Job Duties: Electrical Panel/Enclosure Fabrication, Equipment Installation, Service, and Maintenance. Solder cables and bulkheads. Machine enclosures/back plates using hand/power tools. Wire enclosures/back plates, as well as neatly bundle wires when routing. Ability to understand and make minor modifications to electrical schematics including power and control circuits and identify required components. Install cable tray. Terminate field wiring. Layout, route, terminate, and test robot fixtures and/or jigs. Troubleshoot, debug, and repair equipment mechanically and electrically with assistance. Assist in training Associate Controls Technicians. Quality Adhere to PKC quality standards during all aspects of the panel manufacturing process including, but not limited to machining, fabrication, wiring, quality inspection, delivery, and installation to ensure a quality product or service. Specific Skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other related programs. Education: High school degree required and completed course work towards a business or technical related degree preferred. Travel Required: Some work is performed on site at customer or vendor facilities. Locations will vary based on customer requirements and location but will involve overnight travel. Job Location: PK Controls Facility - Columbus, OH and customer sites Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is required to be coordinated and dexterous with their hands to crimp electrical connectors, wire machinery, and pull cables.
