The Salvation Army Education Site Coordinator in Columbus, Ohio

Overview

Classification:Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 40 hours/week , M-F, 10:00 – 6:30 p.m. during the school year,

8:30 a.m.-4:30 during the summer day camp program and 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. when program is not in session.

Job Focus:

Provide leadership to the Learning Center after school academic enrichment program including direct supervision of program assistants and volunteers at the after-school learning center sites and assist with student recruitment. Develop curriculum and distribute lesson plans to the Lead Program Assistants, conduct and monitor Curriculum Based Measurement Assessments on students, maintain a database to monitor results and development appropriate academic intervention strategies for students determined to be “at risk.”

Qualifications

  • An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education required and lesson planning experience required.

  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office including Excel; ability to create spreadsheets, formulas, charts, tables, etc.

  • Proficient writing, time management, speaking and organizational skills.

  • Two years of working with elementary/middle school children, in an afterschool program setting preferred.

  • Current first aid, CPR, communicable disease, and child abuse training preferred.

  • Patient and energetic

  • Ability to maintain ODJFS standards for employees and program operation if applicable.

  • A valid Ohio Driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.
