Position Purpose:

Supervisor position encompasses all of the job responsibilities of the ECHO position. In addition, the Supervisor performs a variety of technical and non-technical tasks requiring independent judgment and initiative. Organizes and delegates the daily workload (or assigns a designee). Oversees initial and ongoing training for cardiovascular sonographers. Assists with site specific personnel functions including hiring, discipline, annual evaluations and payroll. Ensures regulatory compliance . The Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of the QA and performance improvement activities and all activities associated with achieving and maintaining lab accreditation. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.

What you'll do:

Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients.

· Relationship-based Care: Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system.

Documentation: Oversight of complete and accurate documentation by Sonographers. Communication: Effectively communicates pertinent information to appropriate members of the patient health care team.

· Collaboration: Collaborates with other departments, physicians and other health care providers regarding patient care and testing. Collaborates with director for completion of staff performance appraisals. Cross-system collaboration for policy and procedure development and documentation standardization. Communicates information to staff in support of leadership decisions.

· Resource Management: Displays knowledge of all equipment specific to area of testing. Basic trouble shooting skills for minor problems. Works with Clinical Engineering to coordinate preventative maintenance on equipment. Evaluates and makes recommendations for "state of the art" equipment. Demonstrates an awareness of financial stewardship with regards to supply and labor utilization.

· Initiative: Ensures professional growth and development of self and department staff through participation in educational programs, current literature review, and/or in-services. .

· Performance Improvement: Assists in development of departmental monitors and data collection to support the Accreditation process. Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility with regard to change.

· Computer Skills: Super-user for clinical and non-clinical systems utilized in the department.

· HR Management: Assumes the duties of the Department Director in his or her absence..

· Responsible for obtaining and or maintaining vascular and or echo lab accreditation.

What we're looking for:

Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.

· Licensure / Certification: Registered by the:

· 1. ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) as

· a. RVT (Registered Vascular Sonographer) or

· b. RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer)

OR

· 2. CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) as

· a. RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) or

· b. RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist)

· Experience: Minimum five (5) years cardiovascular experience preferred.

· Leadership qualities and human relations skills necessary to work with patient, staff, managers and physicians.

· Able to perform professional duties with minimal supervision..

· Effective Communication Skills

· BLS certified.
