Job Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering: Participate in gathering detailed functional and non-functional requirements for analytics reporting and data feeds.
Insurance Expertise: Leverage knowledge and experience of personal line insurance products, typical insurance company functions, and data solutions to support business activities.
Guidewire Insurance Suite: Utilize prior experience with Guidewire Insurance Suite (Policy Center, Data Hub, and Info Center) to provide efficient solution options for reporting and data consumption needs.
Client Advisory: Discuss and advise clients on data integration approaches and facilitate the choice of the best approach to follow.
Data Ingestion: Bring knowledge of CDA data ingestion patterns from Guidewire Cloud Platform.
Data Analysis: Perform analysis and profiling of data in legacy systems using SQL to understand data models and relationships, supporting the creation of consolidated databases.
Technical Design: Ensure accurate translation of all requirements into technical design specifications for populating EDW and DataHub.
Gap Identification: Identify gaps in data and develop specifications to fill these gaps. Ensure data consumption requirements are mapped to EDW and DataHub capabilities.
Development Coordination: Work with the technical team to ensure timely completion of development activities, coordinating with onsite client technical BAs, technical leads, and architects as necessary.
Guidance for Data Consumers: Guide downstream consumers on how to pull information from EDW and DataHub data layers by providing database queries and information on data model relationships.
Testing Support: Support testing activities by guiding the technical BA team in developing test scenarios and testing data flows into EDW and DataHub data layers.
Defect Analysis: Provide inputs to analyze and resolve defects in a timely manner.
Works in the area of Software Engineering, which encompasses the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications. 1. Applies scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems. 2. He/she is responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge, in research, design, development and maintenance. 3. His/her work requires the exercise of original thought and judgement and the ability to supervise the technical and administrative work of other software engineers. 4. The software engineer builds skills and expertise of his/her software engineering discipline to reach standard software engineer skills expectations for the applicable role, as defined in Professional Communities. 5. The software engineer collaborates and acts as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.
Required Skills
Strong experience in the insurance domain, particularly with personal line insurance products.
Proven experience with Guidewire Insurance Suite (Policy Center, Data Hub, Info Center).
Proficiency in SQL and data analysis/profiling.
Experience with data integration and ingestion patterns, particularly with Guidewire Cloud Platform.
Excellent communication and client advisory skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and stakeholders.
