Our client, a leader in industrial automation, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting various projects across different industries. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Controls Engineer

Location: Columbus, MS

What's the Job?

  • Creating and commissioning industrial control systems, including PLC software design and HMI screens.

  • Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, installation, debugging on-site, and commissioning of complete systems.

  • Conducting peripheral device programming and coordinating machine debug, power-up, and validation with build and electrical teams.

  • Ensuring systems are designed and programmed to meet customer specifications using standard techniques.

  • Traveling to customer sites for installation and startup of systems.

What's Needed?

  • 5+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience.

  • 3+ years of recent Siemens PLC (Step7 or TIA Portal) and HMI programming experience.

  • Experience with other PLC platforms such as Allen Bradley, Omron, or Mitsubishi is a plus.

  • Ability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch.
