Job Summary:
The role requires collaboration with operations and business stakeholders, as well as IT partners, to establish robust data pipelines that extract and transform information from various site systems, including ERPs, WMSs, MESs, and SCADA. This position may also involve assessing data quality from source systems and identifying root causes of inaccuracies, whether they stem from system issues or data entry errors, which could lead to the implementation of data governance processes. Preferred qualifications include experience with SQL and Oracle databases, with an optional preference for familiarity with Palantir as a data modeling and transformation intermediary. Additionally, candidates with experience in both operations and IT will be highly regarded, as this dual expertise will enhance the effectiveness of data integration and analysis efforts.
In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:
System Design and Automation: Design and automate the deployment of distributed systems for data ingestion and transformation from diverse sources.
Data Quality Monitoring: Develop frameworks to monitor and troubleshoot data quality and integrity issues, ensuring reliable data for analytics.
Data Governance: Implement processes and methods for managing metadata, access, and retention of data, adhering to governance standards.
Data Pipeline Development: Provide guidance on building reliable, efficient, and scalable data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools or scripting languages, incorporating monitoring and alert mechanisms.
Physical Data Modeling: Design and implement physical data models to define database structures, optimizing performance through effective indexing and table relationships.
Pipeline Optimization: Participate in the optimization, testing, and troubleshooting of data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow.
Large-Scale Solutions: Design, develop, and operate large-scale data storage and processing solutions using distributed and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Data Lakes, Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
Automation of Data Tasks: Utilize innovative tools and techniques to automate repetitive data preparation and integration tasks, minimizing manual processes and enhancing productivity.
Infrastructure Renovation: Assist in renovating the data management infrastructure to drive automation in data integration and management.
Agile Development: Ensure the success of critical analytics initiatives by employing agile development methodologies such as DevOps, Scrum, and Kanban.
Team Development: Coach and mentor less experienced team members, fostering their growth and enhancing team capabilities.

- Proficient in creating, writing, and testing computer code, test scripts, and build scripts, utilizing algorithmic analysis and design, industry standards, version control, and automation to meet business, technical, security, governance, and compliance requirements.
Quality Assurance Metrics:
- Knowledgeable in applying measurement science to assess whether solutions meet intended outcomes, utilizing IT Operating Model (ITOM) standards, tools, metrics, and key performance indicators to deliver quality products.
Solution Documentation:
- Capable of documenting information and solutions based on insights gained during product development, effectively communicating to stakeholders to enhance productivity and knowledge transfer.
Solution Validation Testing:
- Experienced in validating configuration changes or solutions using defined best practices and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards to ensure functionality and compliance with customer requirements.
Data Quality:
- Skilled in identifying, understanding, and correcting data flaws to support effective information governance across operational processes and decision-making.
Problem Solving:
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to mentor others in systematic analysis processes. Utilizes industry-standard methodologies to create problem traceability, determine assignable causes, implement robust data-driven solutions, and prevent recurrence of issues.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in relevant technical discipline, or relevant equivalent experience required. Knowledge of the latest technologies and trends in data engineering are highly preferred and includes: - Familiarity analyzing complex business systems, industry requirements, and/or data regulations - Background in processing and managing large data sets - Design and development for a Big Data platform using open source and third-party tools - SPARK, Scala/Java, Map-Reduce, Hive, Hbase, and Kafka or equivalent college coursework - SQL query language - Clustered compute cloud-based implementation experience - Experience developing applications requiring large file movement for a Cloud-based environment and other data extraction tools and methods from a variety of sources - Experience in building analytical solutions Intermediate experiences in the following are preferred: - Experience with IoT technology - Experience in Agile software development
QUALIFICATIONS
Required to work with operations/business stakeholders and IT partners to establish data pipelines that feed information out of site systems for further analysis including ERPs, WMSs, MESs, SCADA and potentially others.
May also be required to gauge data quality coming from source systems and root cause system or data entry driven inaccuracies; This might lead to implementing data governance processes as well.
Experience working with and querying SQL and Oracle DBs is preferred. Optional preference for experience with Palantir as a data modeling/transformation intermediary.
Also, experience in operations as well as IT preferred.
