Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Columbus, Indiana

Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Sr. Accounting Manager for our manufacturing client in COLUMBUS, Indiana. You will play a pivotal role in the accounting and reporting processes and indirectly oversee the work of clerical accounting staff. This role is set in a manufacturing and engineering industry, where you will be instrumental in supporting the finance department, ensuring accurate reporting of company financial results, and mitigating financial risk.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounting operations and reporting processes.

• Review and oversee the work of clerical accounting staff in areas such as Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Support the finance department in maintaining an adequate system of accounting and comprehensive set of controls.

• Design budgets to mitigate financial risk.

• Ensure accurate reporting of company financial results.

• Utilize your knowledge of accounting software systems, enterprise resource planning, and financial reporting.

• Oversee month-end close and account reconciliation processes.

• Handle fixed asset accounting and billing functions.

• Utilize ERP/EDI systems, with a preference for Epicor, to manage accounting tasks.

• Ensure the company's accounting policies and procedures are followed, including legal and ethical obligations.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role or in a supervisory position within the accounting field

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solutions

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC), Epicor, and Epicor ERP would be advantageous

• Comprehensive understanding of all Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with auditing and billing functions

• Proven ability to manage month-end close processes and account reconciliation

• Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
