Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of Accounting principles, company policies, and practices/procedures of fixed asset accounting. Trains staff and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Experienced in ERP systems used for processes and configuration of Fixed Assets. Responsible for hiring decisions of direct reports. Understanding of compliance/internal reporting and good customer service experience to facilitate change and improvements to processes. Responsibilities Good organization and communication skills to identify resources needed for request and task from internal and external sources in a timely manner. "Interprets and applies company policy and accounting guidance to ensure reporting is accurate and follows Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records." Ensure account reconciliations are prepared accurately and in a timely manner. Recommends changes in procedures including internal control procedures and system enhancements. Works directly with internal and external auditors in support of financial statement and internal control audits. Provide financial analysis and other variance explanations as needed. Prepare analysis and reporting for company initiatives. Operates with substantial latitude for action or decisions without prior management review. Lead for the Fixed Asset module and work directly with IT staff on IT tickets, projects and upgrades. Contributes to strategic planning efforts within property accounting. Qualifications 'Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of professional experience and professional certification, such as a CPA, preferred. Formal group leadership experience, preferred. Specific Skills: Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Clear, concise communication skills Thorough technical understanding and the ability/know how to reach out to the appropriate resource to resolve complicated technical issues. The ability to make timely decisions with little to no guidance. Proficient with Excel and Word. Proficient Querying data from an ERP system.
