Actalent SR Project Architect in Columbus, Georgia

Job Title: SR Project ArchitectJob Description

We are seeking a SR Project Architect for our Columbus, GA office. You will assist the project architect and project manager from programming through construction administration, working across multiple sectors such as commercial, healthcare, higher education, local government, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), and manufacturing. Key responsibilities include setting schedules, budgets, scope, hiring consultants, and proposal writing. You will independently apply architectural skills from design concept through construction administration, ensuring solutions meet clients’ needs. You will coordinate with engineering and other consultants, prepare design drawings, submissions, reports, and client presentations, and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff. You must balance several projects at various stages of completion, comply with design standards, and engage with active projects both in the office and on-site. Your role also involves client consultation, defining priorities and vision, preparing and presenting designs, specifications, and construction schedules, and collaborating on construction contracts.

Hard Skills

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Proficient with Revit

  • Moderately proficient with Bluebeam, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office core programs

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Columbus, Georgia and some days remote.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment. It involves prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. The firm has a family-like culture, offering activities such as TopGolf, office lunches, and fun committee outings. The office layout is open, with permanent desks and phones. Most employees work an average of 50 hours per week, often requiring overtime during deadlines. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel and flexible with last-minute trips.
