ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Role Profile

Position: Warehouse Technician - Driver

Job Location: Columbia

Job Type: Full-Time

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Role

This position will be responsible for picking product from the warehouse and receiving product into inventory, in addition to making deliveries to customer sites and providing outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.

  • Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse

  • Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for delivery or shipping using automated bagging machine system both domestically and internationally

  • Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements

  • Assists with physical inventory

  • Maintains expected business level of quality control on all items shipped

  • Delivers product as required

  • Performs other related duties as required

Skills and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills in MS Office, internet and email

  • Experience working in ERP or Inventory system such as Prelude a plus

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Applicants should possess the ability to interact with customers, and team-members in a professional manner. Some leadership experience a plus.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Requires a proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

  • The ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50lbs on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience

  • Reliable transportation is a must

  • Must be able to work independently

  • The ability to safely drive a Company truck

  • The ability to interact professionally with all employees and customers

  • Ability to see in color

  • Ability to work overtime, as required

  • Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis

  • Ability to consistently move throughout facility and customers during the full workday

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipment

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory software and to create packing list

  • Basic math skills

  • Properly measure with a tape measure

  • Background checks, drug screening are required (as warranted by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an industrial setting

  • 1-2 years of warehousing or production experience in an industrial setting

  • Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance

  • Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills

  • Requires ability to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of people in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
