TITLE: GRINDER REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION

SUMMARY Regrind PE pipe to re-extrude regrind in order to save material. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Works under the direction of the production supervisor. Operates polyethylene scrap grinder. Operates shredder and maintain shredder blades. Operates chainsaw to cut up polyethylene scrap to fit into shredder. Handling and separating materials, filling containers with re-grind and keeps maintenance records. Operates hand and power trucks when necessary. Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly to Total Housekeeping Management and ISO standards. Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times. Fills out reports as required. Performs inventory counts on all scrap materials as directed. Other duties as assigned.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Having adequate sight capability of sight, hearing, and use of limbs to operate all powered vehicles. I.E. sweeper, forklifts. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling capabilities to handle job requirements such as operating, cleaning or packaging equipment and products. Balancing to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching in all areas due to possible limited direct supervision and/or observation. Ability to verbally communicate either face to face or via telephone with other employees to accomplish all assigned job requirements. Hear and understand verbal communication whether it be face to face or via telephone. See and understand written communication. Ability to conform by sight quality level of raw materials and products produced too determine acceptance or denial of each. Climb and descend all ladders or steps whether fixed or portable on company facilities in order to access all areas if needed. Lift up to 70 pounds and carry up to 30 feet. Ability to feel objects, such as textures, size, and shape and to determine temperature by touching. Ability to grasp tools (manual as well as powered) and use them i accordance with a safe working manner so as not to injure oneself or fellow employees. I.E. power saws, drills, hammers, presses, latches, etc. Sight capabilities to safely operate at arms length machinery and power and/or hand tools needed to accomplish the requirements of the job assignments for this position.
