Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, provides Cyber Security services and cutting-edge technologies to the Federal Government. Sealing Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to aid in the development and maintenance of a Machine Learning platform for a DoD Customer. We are looking to hire a Junior to Mid-Level Engineer, to support cutting-edge projects. This is a role that will provide the opportunity to develop skills and experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and a wealth of data engineering initiatives. You will have the opportunity to support the Department of Defense (DoD) with Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation. The individual must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.
Work will primarily be performed onsite in Northern Virginia at the DoD customer location and at our Sealing Tech HQ in Columbia, MD. A few days a week remote may be possible under certain scenarios.
Position involves the following tasks:
Build and maintain custom containers.
Build and maintain a Kubernetes platform for data science and machine learning.
Establish and maintain a DevSecOps pipeline.
Maintain documentation for administrators, users, and security.
Develop and perform testing of new software/capabilities before deploying to production.
Maintain and configure networking equipment.
Build a robust system to easily detect data anomalies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active TS security clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI.
At least 1-3 years of Linux experience.
At least 1 year of experience with deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
At least 1-3 years Python experience.
Leverage Kubernetes cluster to allow developers to create and update infrastructure components at any time, allowing easy service expansion.
Experience with source control, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development methods (Git, GitHub Actions).
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
Experience building and maintaining container images.
Experience with Ansible.
US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems Administration, Systems Engineering or a related form of engineering training.
Knowledge of DoD processes, procedures, and terminology.
Prior experience working with Cyber Protection Teams.
Knowledge of Packet Capture and Analysis Tools/Techniques.
Develop and execute best practices/strategies for migration to Azure.
Anticipate and respond to system anomalies in advance.
Experience with Elasticsearch
Experience with Rancher's RKE2
Experience with RHEL
Identify applicable STIGs for each system or area.
Report STIG compliance.
Aid in the hands-on application of STIGs as needed on Linux and Kubernetes.
Experience configuring and managing Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switches.
This role has an internal job title of a Systems Engineer I or II with a general base salary range of $61k to $106k. While this salary range (aligned with current national standards) may be broader, we are specifically targeting $61k to $95k for this position, set in line with internal benchmarks. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to the anticipated salary, one will have the opportunity to qualify for bonuses.
