Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Job Description

The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for recording up-to-date patient information and medical history, maintaining medication lists in the EMR system, performing patient vitals, setting up rooms and inventory, sterilizing reusable instruments, running and verifying lab work, and assisting with phone calls when needed. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multiple specialty physicians. Additional administrative tasks related to medical assistance are also included.

Responsibilities

  • Record up-to-date patient information and medical history

  • Maintain medication lists in the EMR system

  • Perform patient vitals

  • Set up rooms and inventory

  • Sterilize reusable instruments

  • Run and verify lab work

  • Assist with phone calls when needed

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple specialty physicians

  • Complete medical administrative work

Essential Skills

  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant Required

  • 1-2 years of clinic experience

  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic preferred

  • Proficiency in phlebotomy

  • Ability to measure and record vitals

  • Knowledge of family medicine practices

  • Experience as a medical scribe

  • Ability to handle patient information accurately

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in an Urgent Care setting

  • Experience in Family Medicine

  • Experience in Pediatrics

Work Environment

The position involves working in a fast-paced immediate care setting, seeing upwards of 20 patients per day. The Medical Assistant will be part of a collaborative team with other MAs and front desk staff. The work environment is dynamic and requires a team player mentality.

Monday, Wed & Thurs: 745am to 430pm

Tuesday: 1130am to 8pm

Friday: 9am to 630pm

Every Third Sunday: 730a-6pm
