Litigation Attorney - Hybrid (Columbia, MD)

Boutique litigation and trial law firm with offices in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and New York, looking for an Attorney with 5 + years of civil defense litigation experience, to join their Maryland office and help drive a growing national practice.

Candidate should have experience in handling their own caseload and would need to be both pro-active and skilled in moving cases forward to get their clients the best possible result. Candidate should have experience in the civil discovery process and in taking and defending depositions. Excellent writing skills are required. The candidate should also be able to travel nationally.

Position offers a flexible remote/in-office arrangement. Excellent package of a competitive salary and benefits, including 100% individual medical coverage, 401(k), FSA plan, and paid time off.

Responsibilities:

• Handle a caseload independently, applying proactive strategies to move cases forward and achieve the best possible results for our clients.

• Engage in the civil discovery process, demonstrating a high level of competency and thoroughness.

• Defend depositions, utilizing strong negotiation and communication skills.

• Deliver excellent written work, demonstrating clarity, precision, and attention to detail.

• Travel nationally as required, maintaining flexibility and adaptability to meet client needs.

• Maintain proficiency in MS Office applications, utilizing these tools to manage caseloads, communicate effectively, and perform other tasks as necessary.

Requirements

• Must be barred in Maryland

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an Attorney/Lawyer.

• Demonstrable experience in Civil Litigation.

• Proven track record of successfully Defending Depositions.

• Proficiency in conducting and managing Discovery processes.

• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to interpret laws and regulations.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and integrity.

• Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
