The Information Security Analyst II provides operational support and assists with various projects on behalf of the Information Security team. The primary areas of responsibilities include oversight and response of incoming requests and incidents and managing several security tools which support Information Security operations.

The Information Security Analyst II regularly responds to requests and incidents primarily from our internal business users but may also include external customers. As such, customer service and communications are essential for the team. A desire to work within a team, with other members of Information Services, and our business users is essential.

The Information Security team depends heavily on a variety of technologies and processes to perform their work. All analysts are expected to gain and maintain a high level of proficiency in the technologies used. The Information Security Analyst II will work across IS to ensure tools are used to their full potential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees and works towards resolution for all tickets and incidents submitted to the Information Security team in accordance with established SLAs

  • Utilizes various tools to complete work. This includes vulnerability scans, application scanning, brand protection, email security, incident research and security operations management

  • Protects the Amergis brand from impersonation. Receives reports from various sources and leverages third party tool ZeroFox to takedown fraudulent domains and job postings

  • Performs phishing simulations across the organization. Creates original simulations, manages simulation start/end, and collects metrics

  • Reviews alerts with the security operations center (Secureworks). Identifies alerts needing additional analysis. Creates investigations and responds to new investigations

  • Creates and updates documentation including SOPs, KBAs, and collection of evidence for investigations

  • Provides initial answers to incoming third-party risk questionnaires. Escalates questions and areas needing clarification to other teams

  • Metrics are a key part of our management strategy. As such, each team member is expected to contribute to the collection of metrics from the tools and technologies we use

  • This role has no supervisory responsibilities

  • Works under general supervision but will manage own workload

Minimum requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working in information security. Must have familiarity with Information Security concepts, technologies, and tools

  • Working knowledge of networking including IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, and technologies used including firewalls, switches, routers

  • Understanding of email and phishing attacks, email headers and technologies used in sending and receiving messages

  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and management within an enterprise environment. Basic understanding of Active Directory, group policy, and Azure

  • Must be customer focused

  • Good communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely

  • Works well within a team. Assists team members with issues or to balance the workload and complete work faster

  • Desire and ability to learn new skills is essential
