Actalent Firmware Engineer in Columbia, Maryland

Firmware Engineer - Columbia, MD - Onsite

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer with expertise in embedded systems to join our team. This role involves building, testing, and improving the firmware of our flagship device, which incorporates Bluetooth, LTE, and a range of embedded sensors. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in firmware development, debugging, and testing for medical devices, with the ability to contribute to both existing and new designs. This role requires a versatile individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and can address the challenges of designing firmware for the next generation of healthcare solutions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of post-educational professional experience in Embedded Software Development.

  • Proven hands-on experience with C and Assembly for embedded systems, with a focus on medical devices or highly regulated industries.

  • Experience working with Bluetooth 5.0 (BLE), specifically BL652-SA modules.

  • Expertise in firmware development for ARM processors, especially the STM32F4 series.

  • Proficient in debugging and testing using laboratory instruments like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
